5 – THE MDI NEWZ: New Coaches, New Services, New Locations…New Savings!

If you were an MDI Customized Training Plan Client over the past year, you receive a 24% discount on your plan development this coming year if you register for any level of our Personal Coaching services this season. If you were an MDI Coaching Client over the past year, you receive an incredible 37% discount on your CTP development this year (with registration for any level of coaching).
Our Staff: we have such an exciting, dynamic, diverse, motivating, genuine and compassionate, experienced and knowledgeable team of coaches assembled for you this season that I can hardly contain myself (can you tell!). Between stalwarts such as Jackie Dupuis, Todd Milligan, Steve McKinnon, Robin McKechney and Bennett Cohen (and I guess I can include myself in that group), and relatively new additions such as "supermoms" Jennifer Faraone (34min 10K runner!) and Sherab Melvin (10 time marathoner), it's a true pleasure to work with them, and a delight for us all to work/run/play with you. Every single member of this team is a (trial-by-fire) expert in the fine art of managing "life around running and running around life"...as they are all spouses, parents, career professionals with other physical interests as well (and even non-physical ones! too). I can say with complete confidence that we have never had a team as capable as we do now, of understanding, supporting, managing and assisting the "Real World Runner"--which is, in all likelihood...you! Our System: the efficacy of both our well-honed, time-tested Customized Training Plans & our constantly improving and evolving Marathon Dynamics Coaching systems are well established--and we're always researching and discussing amongst our team ways to improve our knowledge and service as coaches, and your experience and performance as runners.
Our “New” Services: aside from the "regular stuff" you've come to know & expect from Marathon Dynamics Coaching (workout prep/summaries, analysis, feedback, Mix 'n Match, Supporting Cast referral, Silver/Gold Level Coaching, E-Coaching, Race Day Coaching, e-bulletins & e-newsletters, etc.), we added a couple new things this season, which we hope you'll really enjoy:
New Early AM Coaching Group Offerings – due in part to increasing runner demand, but also because of the increasingly tough slog of intensity training though the “new heat/smog” of the past few summers, we’re pleased to announce the creation of 2 new Toronto area Coaching Group locations (one midtown, one west) where we’ll meet at 6AM to start our warm up, and by 7am or shortly thereafter be completing our cool down jogs post workout. And then on with the rest of your busy day. Though I would imagine few of us naturally gravitate to intensity workouts first thing in the early morning, there certainly are some compelling reasons to consider these options. Aside from the obviously cooler temps and cleaner air, you’ll also have the advantage of getting those very critical workouts “done and in the bank” for the day, and not be stressed or worried about “something coming up” (i.e. work or family or self) that preempts the planned workout. So give it some thought, and if it appeals to you…give us a shout!
Online Discussion Groups - both a "general" MDI group and "Coaching Group Only" (password access) groups where you and your fellow runners in each of our coaching groups can ask training or training plan questions to/of your fellow runners, get road-trips going to mid season races, find ideal Long Run & OMP run partners, ask for opinions on products, events, etc....all from runners who you know and trust (cause you sweat with them every week!). These are already set up "behind" our website and are going to be activated in mid June.
Online Training Log Capability - (coming this season--won't be here right away, but we hope and expect to be testing and using it before the fall). TONS of possibilities and useful information exchange and reporting that we can get out of this!
So, without further ado, here are the "5 W's" on the new Marathon Dynamics' Coaching Groups (our Coaching Services info is also now available on our newly-updated website too)
Summer/Fall Days/Locations @ 6:30-8pm (unless otherwise noted) through to mid-October:
1. MONDAY — South/East Toronto: Riverdale Park Track - starts June 11th (Max 20 runners)
2. TUESDAY — Etobicoke: Centennial Stadium - starts June 12th (Max 30 runners)
3. TUESDAY (6AM – NEW!)—West Toronto: West TO Collegiate - starts June 19th (Max 15 runners)
4. WEDNESDAY — Central Toronto: Central Tech HS - starts June 6th (Max 30 runners)
5. THURSDAY (6AM – NEW!) — Midtown Toronto: Lawrence Park CI - starts June 14th (Max 15 runners)
6. THURSDAY – Midtown Toronto: Lawrence Park CI - starts June 21st (Max 15 runners)
7. THURSDAY — East Oakville/West Mississauga: Oakville Trafalgar HS - starts June 7th (Max 40 runners)
Please check your schedule for the next few months, and consider your heat tolerance for intensity training (i.e. early AM timeslots vs. evening PM). If you'd like to secure your spot in one of these groups, please complete and return the Coaching Registration form found on our website (by email or fax) ASAP. Or if you would like to “tawk shop” about your running, and/or have further questions about our services, please give a shout.
