MARATHON DYNAMICS' INTERACTIVE
RUNNING PACE ADJUSTMENT TOOLS
THE HOT AND THE COLD OF IT...
Heat & Humidity Pace Adjustment Tool - when base temperature (or humidex) is above 15 degrees C, there is a progressively stronger negative effect on running pace, for any given effort, intensity or speed of running. This interactive tool allows you to easily and accurately adjust your target training pace to compensate for adversely hot and humid conditions, providing you with realistic and appropriate training paces.
Snow & Ice Pace Adjustment Tool - when snow and ice begin to complicate the winter runner's training (to say nothing of extreme cold and high winds!), there is a REMARKABLY strong negative effect on running pace, for any given effort, intensity or speed of running. This interactive tool allows you to easily and accurately adjust your target training pace to compensate for adversely slippery and frigid conditions.
* Please note: these tools can be used BEFORE heading out for runs (to proactively adjust target paces) or AFTER returning from them (by retroactively assessing the weather's effect). Just be sure to carefully check and/or estimate weather conditions IMMEDIATELY before or after your runs.
